Energy storage is regarded as the key supporting technology of energy revolution, which has been increasingly valued and applied in countries around the world, and has achieved remarkable technical results in the fields of renewable energy consumption, distributed energy and micro-grid, power auxiliary services, power system flexibility, and energy Internet. At the same time, the State Grid Co., Ltd. has taken a variety of measures to actively promote the implementation of relevant national policies, the company has built a new energy and energy storage State key laboratory, and constantly improve the research capacity of energy storage related research, a total of 408 patents, including 213 invention patents, organized research and issued China's first set of electric energy storage technology standard system, Covering 7 aspects of basic integration, planning and design, equipment and materials, engineering construction, information security, operation and maintenance, scheduling and trading, leading the formulation of 10 national standards, 6 industry standards, and 17 corporate standards; In the past decade, China's energy storage industry has developed rapidly, according to the Zhongguancun Energy storage Industry Technology Alliance global energy storage database statistics, especially since 2018, China has put into operation scale above (10MWh and above) a total of 78 power storage projects, of which 16 grid side energy storage projects, power side energy storage projects 1, auxiliary service energy storage projects 2 applications. There are 12 centralized renewable energy grid-connected energy storage applications and 47 user-side energy storage projects.
It can be said that energy storage is a necessary part of the future power system and is indispensable. For the power system, energy storage can provide a variety of services for the power grid such as peak regulation and frequency regulation, peak cutting and valley filling, black start, demand response support, and improve the flexibility, economy and security of the traditional power system. We need to adjust energy resources across time and space distribution, accelerate the breakthrough and popularization of electric energy storage technology, in order to meet the load needs of users, in order to reduce the burden of centralized power grids, and jointly promote China's energy transformation.
